Organ Donation…why is there such a shortage?

I’m asked a lot about organ donation and why ,if their driver’s license reflect organ donation, it doesn’t happen by remote control at the time of death. When a death occurs the medical staff is required to rely on the wishes of the deceased’s family.

According to materials I have read lately, 96 % of those interviewed said they would like to donate their useable organs at the time of death.  The catch is, that only 48% of those polled who wanted to make that donation, ever shared their decision with their family.  Providing your family with that simple piece of  information can make a huge difference in their lives, your legacy and the lives of others in your community.

Local and Proud of it

It’s interesting when someone notices Flanner and Buchanan is still locally owned and operated for over 127 years.  Being locally owned and operated we have a huge commitment to make Indianapolis and the surrounding area better!  We understand our culture, and making friends has a real face to face identity.  When we plant trees to expand the “green space” we look forward to watching them grow ….just like our families.  Which do you prefer ….local or corporate global?
